Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted by Vercel (Vercel Inc., USA). When you access it, Vercel — acting as a processor — handles technically necessary access data (including IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure, stable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement and standard contractual clauses are in place for the transfer to the USA.

Fonts

Fonts are served from our own server. No connection is made to Google Fonts or any other third party, and no data is transferred to third parties for this purpose.

Booking (Cal.com)

If you arrange an appointment via the booking link, your details are processed by Cal.com (USA). This only happens if you actively use that feature. A data processing agreement and standard contractual clauses apply, with a corresponding transfer level for the USA.

Contacting us

If you write to us by email, we process your details solely to handle your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). We do not pass them on and keep them only as long as needed to answer you.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, the details you enter (name, email, optional company, message) are sent to our own mailbox by email, on our own servers — no third-party form service is involved. This only happens when you actively submit the form. We process the details solely to handle your enquiry and keep them only as long as needed to answer you. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR. Alternatively, you can always email us directly at info@neural-step.de.

Spam protection (self-hosted)

To protect the contact form against automated abuse and spam, we use ALTCHA, a self-hosted spam check based on a proof-of-work mechanism. Your browser solves a small computational task before the form is sent. The check runs entirely on our own servers: it is cookieless, sets no cookies, performs no tracking, and transfers no data to any third party. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the form from spam and misuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); for the same reason, no cookie banner and no consent are required.

Analytics (Plausible)

To improve what we offer, we measure usage of this website with Plausible (Plausible Insights OÜ, Estonia), a privacy-friendly analytics service. Plausible is hosted within the EU; no transfer to a third country takes place for this purpose. The measurement is cookieless: no cookies are set, no personal data is stored, and no cross-device or cross-site tracking is carried out. Only aggregate metrics such as page views, referring pages and approximate region of origin are collected; individual visitors cannot be identified. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in low-impact usage measurement (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). That interest is proportionate because the measurement works without cookies and without personal data; for the same reason, no cookie banner and no consent are required.

No marketing cookies

This website sets no cookies for marketing or advertising purposes and embeds no advertising or third-party trackers.

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. To exercise them, contact info@neural-step.de. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
